The initiative aims to take private individuals on a historic journey around the Moon aboard the company’s Starship spacecraft.
Elon Musk, founder and CEO of SpaceX, revealed the plan during a press conference, stating, “This is an important step towards making space travel accessible to everyone. We are excited to offer private citizens the opportunity to orbit the Moon and witness the beauty of our celestial neighbor from a perspective only a few have experienced.”
The mission, named “Lunar Odyssey,” is slated to launch in late 2025, with the Starship spacecraft carrying a crew of private astronauts on a week-long journey around the Moon and back to Earth.
